Toughing it out

Surgical protocol is that for the two weeks prior to surgery, all pain medication is ceased-OUCH.

Generally pain medications also thin blood, so for obvious reasons, no pain meds are used in the lead up to surgery. If nothing else, this reminds the surgical candidate(me), just how much they actually need the surgery.

So-- I am crabby this week.

Medical professional always asked you to "rate your pain" on a scale from one to ten, in efforts for management. I wish I knew what a 6 was compared to an 8 -- All I know is, it hurts more than yesterday and likely less than tomorrow.

Is it June 13 yet?
